Leaders of the People Democratic Party (PDP) led by it’s National Chairman, Taminu Turaki, on Saturday, paid a visit to former President Olusegun Obasanjo at his Abeokuta residence in Ogun State.
The leaders who include former governors of Plateau and Niger States, Sen. Jonah Jang and Alhaji Muazu Babangida and others, arrived at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta around 11:38 am on Saturday.
Welcomed by the State Chairman of the party, Hon Abayomi Tella and other top leaders of the party in the state, the leaders immediately moved into a private meeting with the former president.
Though the reason for the visit is yet to be revealed but may be connected to the current internal crisis in the opposition party with tornado of defections that is about to tear it apart.
The latest in the wind of defection is Rivers State Governor, Similanayi Fubara, who just dumped the PDP for the APC because of the failure of the party to protect him during his rift with Wike that led to his six months suspension.
