The Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) in the Uso community, Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State, has been attacked, abducting six worshippers during a midnight raid.
The bandits attacked the church which is located along the Uso, Owo Expressway and took the worshippers to an unknown place.
The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abayomi Jimoh, who confirmed the incident said operatives from the command responded promptly upon receiving the report.
Already, police has explained its collaboration with the Nigerian Army and local vigilante groups, mobilised to the scene and launched coordinated rescue operations.
He said that the joint efforts has led to the rescue of one of the kidnapped victims and the arrest of a suspect believed to be connected to the attack.
The suspect has given useful information that will help in the ongoing investigations and efforts to rescue the abducted victims
The husband and wife earlier abducted in Ilu Abo, Jamiu Olawale and his wife, have been released after four days in captivity.
According to relative, a ransom of N5 million was paid to get release. “Jamiu and his wife were freed by their captors on Tuesday night, and they have since reunited with their family.”
