Ex-President Buhari Finally Laid to Rest

Upon the arrival of the corpse of the former President Muhammadu Buhari from London on Tuesday, his mortal body has been committed to mother earth at his Daura residence.

The ceremony which attracted both local and international dignitaries led by President Bola Tinubu was performed by the Chief Imam of Daura, Sheikh Salisu Rabiu.

In the burial which took place around 5:30 pm on Tuesday under the trees where the late president usually chill out and interact with relations, prayers were offered to Almighty Allah for the forgiveness of his sin and to grant him Aljannarul Firdaus.

The Sheikh also prayed for comfort and strength for his family, the people of Daura, Katsina State and the entire country that he left behind.

He was interred at 4:57 pm at the heli-pad, the spot where the helicopters that convey him touch ground whenever he goes home in his lifetime.

His interment was immediately followed by 21 gun salutes at his private home after which three and two shots were respectively followed until the entire process was completed.

With tight security, many mourners were seen discussing in different tones without hiding their grief over the loss of the general turned politician who positively affected Daura town in many ways that cannot be equaled many years to come.

Among the sea of people led by President Tinubu to fare the late former president well were the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Chief of Staff to the President, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Borno State Governor, Prof Babagana Umaru Zulum and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar.

Other governors with Zulu are Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, Babajide Sanwo – Olu of Lagos State, Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto, Monday Okpebholo of Edo, Bassey Edet of Cross River, Hope Uzodimma of Imo and Dauda Lawal of Zamfara among others.
