Tension arose at Polling Unit 141, LEA Primary School, Karamajiji, in Gwarimpa Registration Area (Area Code 05), on Saturday when suspected political thugs moved around while electoral officials were making effort to start voting.
As election materials got to the polling unit at about 9:03 a.m., accreditation and voting were delayed for over an hour.
Despite the presence of security operatives in the area, voters expressed concern over those suspected to be thugs but party agents were at alert within and around the polling centre.
People living in the area said the development scared early voters who had arrived the polling unit before the time.
Meanwhile accreditation was ongoing under tight security as voters expressed optimism for a peaceful exercise.
