The first lady of Anambra State, Dr Nonye Soludo, has praised the state teachers for winning big at the maiden edition of the National Teachers’ Summit held in Abuja.
In the event, organised by the office of the wife of the President in partnership with Ministry of Education, Chekwube Ifentike, a teacher with Government Technical College, Onitsha, win the first of its kind award in the country, going home with N25 million prize.
Mrs Soludo also stated in a press statement she released on Wednesday, that Anambra teachers have been empowered like never before to excel in the classrooms, outside the school walls, and elsewhere.

She said, “Massive congratulations to our dear state for winning big at the Maiden Edition of the National Teachers’ Summit held in Abuja.
“Our own Chekwube Ifentike of Government Technical College, Onitsha, who represented the state, emerged overall best in the South East and first runner-up nationally, bringing home a cash prize of ₦25m. This honour goes beyond just an academic exercise; it’s a result of deliberate ambition driven by sincere will and sustainable government vision.”
He stated further that “The Solution Administration has invested heavily in education, taking into account its necessity to sound human capital success and the future of Anambra State.
“Anambra teachers have been empowered like never before to succeed in the classrooms, outside the school walls, and elsewhere.
“Let me congratulate Ifentike for her brilliance and strong dedication and for showing the world what Anambra is made of. I also commend our dear mother, the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, whose remarkable partnership with the Federal Ministry of Education has made this event both a reality and successful. Your impact is always felt. Thank you!”
The programme with the theme “Empowering teachers, strengthening the system: A national agenda for education transformation and sustainability” ends today at the Banquet Hall, State House, Abuja.
