The Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed has called on the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, to be careful not to scatter like the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

In particular, the governor said the ruling party needs to watch its back after its primary elections to avoid the error of the PDP and collapse.
He disclosed this yesterday while speaking to journalists after a closed-door meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

He said: “The APC will need to watch their backs after the primaries, as they are growing larger, much like the PDP. The PDP expanded and ultimately exploded.
“I do not feel lonely because I understand my state, and my intention is to stay back and observe how elections are won at the polling booth. Elections are won locally, not nationally.”
Speaking on insecurity, Mohammed said the activities of bandits had escalated to the point where security agencies were struggling to contain them, forcing residents to flee their homes.
He said “I came here on behalf of the people and government of Bauchi State to see His Excellency, Mr President, pertaining to the situation of insecurity in my local government, Alkaleri, where some bandits have become so emboldened and they have taken over so many ungoverned spaces there.”
He said the bandits were operating from forested areas around the Daji Dam axis and had engaged security forces in sporadic clashes.
“We have been having some sporadic clashes and skirmishes with them, with the security agencies, but it would appear that the security agencies and all of us are overwhelmed and the situation is escalating to a level where it will become a big humanitarian crisis,” he said.

Sequel to the crisis that rocks PDP apart, there has been rift between the Governor and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) over leadership positions in the PDP.
