The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, has carried out a search on the Abuja residence of former governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai.
This was revealed on Thursday by his Media Adviser, Muyiwa Adekeye, in a post on his verified X handle, saying: “The Aso Drive residence of Malam Nasir elrufai was today searched by the ICPC.”

The invasion was necessitated by the presence of the former governor in EFCC custody in Abuja over an ongoing investigation into the finances of Kaduna State during his eight-year tenure as governor from 2015 to 2023.
Speaking on this, El-Rufai’s lawyer, Ubong Akpan, condemned the action which he described as unlawful and a clear violation of legal procedures and fundamental rights.
Earlier, CrowMedia reported that El-Rufai was arrested by ICPC after he was released on bail by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday.
This arrest marks another phase in the scrutiny of the former governor’s eight-year administration by anti graft agencies over alleged financial misapropriation.
