Nigerians Brewers spent an estimated N1.54tn on beer and other non-alcoholic drinks in the first nine months of 2025, which shows major boost in revenue growth during the period.

Unaudited financial statements of Nigerian Breweries Plc, International Breweries Plc and Champion Breweries Plc, reveals that the companies collectively recorded strong top-line performance driven largely by beer sales for the nine months ended September 30, 2025.

Nigerian Breweries Plc, dominated the market with revenue of N1.05 trillion during the period, rising sharply from N710.87 billion in the same period of 2024. After production costs of N631.23 billion, the company posted a gross profit of N415.15 billion.

The brewer ended the period with a profit after tax of N85.51 billion, a remarkable turnaround from the N149.50 billion loss recorded a year earlier. Earnings per share climbed to 275 kobo from a negative 1,455 kobo in 2024.

International Breweries Plc, which operates in Nigeria and other West African markets, also posted impressive numbers, with revenue rising to N472.57 billion for the nine-month period, compared with N343.45 billion in 2024. The brewer reported a profit after tax of N57.83 billion, reversing the N112.81 billion loss recorded the previous year. Production and operating costs rose, but were outweighed by strong sales growth.

Champion Breweries Plc which is small in in scale, recorded revenue of N21.44bn for the nine months ended September 30, 2025, up from N14.02 billion in the same period of 2024.

It ended the nine months with a profit after tax of N2.05 billion, compared to just N21.5 million a year earlier.

The three brewers generated revenue that crossed N1.54 trillion within nine months, with Nigerian Breweries Plc contributing the largest share.

This underscores the healthy position of the beverage industry in Nigeria’s consumer market.
