Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has stated that the security of lives and property of the people of the state remained the priority of his administration.

The governor stated this on Wednesday while addressing residents of Owo, Ose and Akure North Local Government during a tour of the area.

In the statewide ‘Thank-You’ tour of the three local government, Aiyedatiwa said his administration was ready to root out and tackle head-long activities of banditry and other criminal elements terrorising the boundary communities of the state.

“Our administration puts security at the top of OUR EASE agenda. Security agencies remain on high alert to protect all our communities. We will not leave you alone and allow something bad to happen to you.

“Criminal activities along border communities will not be tolerated.”

According to him, the establishment of an Amotekun Rangers camp and the deployment of operatives had helped greatly to reduce criminal activities as well as allowing farmers and traders to do their business without fear.

Aiyedatiwa explained that beyond security, the seven-day tour covering all 18 local government areas was meant to take governance to the grassroots, celebrate citizens for their support and highlight projects already executed in the state.

Being a Christmas season, Aiyedatiwa said the visit would enable the expression of goodwill to residents through the distribution of palliatives.

In particular, he promised the people of Ose Local Government Area that their bad roads would soon be attended to.

As well, the governor said programmes such as improved electricity supply, school shuttle buses and other social programmes in the state were products of reforms introduced by President Bola Tinubu, which has helped the state to be more useful in the area of project delivery.
