As the world is getting to appreciate the power, strength, bond and therapeutic effect of old students and genuine friendship, Manuwa Memorial Grammar School Old Student Association (MMGSOSA) is prepared to celebrate 2026 reunion in grand style.

In the reunion tagged: “Make Manuwa Great Again,” which is expected to last for three days beginning from 20th February, many programmes that will recreate old memories among old school mates and bring about renewal of spirit, soul and body have been lined up.

As it has always been every year, the 2026 reunion will open with arrival and registration of members which will lead to networking session and dinner where young school leavers will have the privilege to reconnect with old school leavers in relaxed mood to interact and make profitable contacts.

As this session will lead to informal discussion with business and professional connection, old school mates will also meet again to rekindle old friendship with sweet memories..

The second day will feature a round table discussion where the state of the alma mater will be discussed with contributions from alumni on different support strategies vis-a-vis education, mentorship, scholarships and infrastructural development of the school.

Taking place in the ancient town of Iju-Odo, the reunion will include free medical outreach where members of the school community and environs will be medically examined and treated on various medical conditions.

Other activities which include giving of awards to deserving ambassadors of the school and more, will end with a thanksgiving service on Sunday 22nd at St Paul’s Anglican Church, Iju – Odo.

Speaking on the reunion which has now become annual, the President of MMGSOSA, Rev. Mrs Gbemi Onasanya, who is also a Commissioner in the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC), called on all alumni to make it a period of great reflection on the pathway to a greater MMGS.

Reflecting on the great legacy and incredible bond Manuwarians share, Onasanya said: “Manuwa shaped us into who we are today, now is our turn to reshape her, restore her glory and give her the pride of place.”

Speaking further on the whatsApp platform of the association, Onasanya said: “the reunion is neither about the food nor the drinks; it is about the nicknames, the laughter and the escapades.

“We are here to celebrate our successes so far and inspire ourselves to achieve our motto: upward still and onward.”

She therefore called on every old student to come and see the various transformations that have occurred in their alma mater under her able leadership and build on it.

Meanwhile, in order to make this year’s titanium anniversary a success, the reunion committee charged with the responsibility to do so, is not leaving any stone unturned with the formation of sub-committees to handle different segments of the reunion programme.

Charging committee members in his inaugural speech as the Chairman of the 2026 reunion Committee, Otunba Dr. Stephen Fasawe, FCA, said the cooperation of committee members and collective efforts are pivotal towards making the programme a success because according to him, service is about commitment which does not go unnoticed.
