Following the recent increase in Dangote Refinery’s gantry price, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL and other filling stations have again, increased the pump price of their Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).

It was discovered on Sunday that NNPCL has further increased its pump price to N1,082 from N967 per liter in Abuja and its environs which represents a N115 rise per liter.

Already, this new increase has been applied by NNPCL retail outlets in Abuja with other filling stations including AA Rano, MRS, Ranoil and Empire Energy.

The prices in many of these stations now range between N1,092 and N1,150 per liter, up from around N960 to N980 per liter.

While speaking on this issue, the National President of the Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria, Billy Gillis-Harry, said the domestic petrol price increase is in connection with global price of crude oil.

“The Dangote Refinery gantry petrol price hike and retail price adjustment are due to crude price volatility caused by the Iran–US–Israel conflict affecting the Gulf region,” he said.

However, he called on regulators in Nigeria oil sector to intervene to in order to prevent further further hike.

Earlier, CrowMedia reported that Dangote Raises Petrol Price to ₦874

The earlier adjustment which was from ₦799 to ₦874 per liter was on Monday last week. This is new increase is coming barely a week after the first increase.

Without quick intervention, it will without doubt bring much pain on Nigerian.
