Following a viral video on social media platforms at the weekend that a security operatives has arrested a member of the presidential kitchen staff over an alleged attempt to poison President Bola Tinubu, the Presidency has dismissed it as false.
Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has disclosed that it is a “fake news,” and that the fabricated story should be disregarded by the public.
The public according to him, should always rely on official communication channels for verified information.
He also warned the public against the spread of unverified reports that are capable of misleading people and causing needless panic.

Coming some months after some military personnel were arrested for planning to topple the government, this is also seen as credible threats to the President’s safety.
According to a report, a staff of Julius Bergen at the presidential wing of the state House is among those arrested to explain his involvement in the alleged coup plot.

Deployed to the State House in 2022, Vanguard reports that he is from one of the states in the South-South and in the electrical department of the world-class construction company.
A staffer of Julius Berger, who did not disclosed his name said: “I don’t know what should have been the attraction for him to get involved in such a serious issue. He is just new in State House. Some of us have stayed long here and we can’t stay where such a discussion is going on what more of being involved.”
