Following the resignation of the Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund, Ahmed Aminu, President Bola Tinubu has appointed Professor Shu’aib Aliyu as the new boss of the fund.
President Tinubu also renewed of the appointment of Sule Abdulaziz as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Transmission Company of Nigeria.
Aliyu is a seasoned academic and administrator with extensive experience in research and institutional leadership.
A statement issued on Thursday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, reads:

“His appointment underscores the President’s commitment to strengthening key institutions in the petroleum sector and advancing capacity development for Nigeria’s energy industry.
“The President expects him to leverage his wealth of experience to reposition the PTDF for greater impact in human capital development, innovation, and strategic support for the oil and gas sector in line with national priorities,” Onanuga said.

The reappointment of Abdulaziz’s according to the Presidency, followed a review of his performance in overseeing the nation’s transmission network which recorded improvements in grid stability, expansion of transmission capacity and system modernisation.
