Tinubu to Attend 21st All Nigeria Editors Conference

President Bola Tinubu, has been scheduled to attend the 21st All Nigeria Editors Conference scheduled to take place in Abuja from Wednesday, November 12, 2025.

The two-day conference which was organised by the Nigerian Guild of Editors, will take place at the State House Conference Centre, Aso Villa, where President Tinubu is billed to declare the event open.

In a statement on Tuesday which was jointly signed by the NGE President, Eze Anaba and the General Secretary, Onuoha Ukeh, over 500 editors from across the country are expected with media executives, academics, members of the diplomatic corps and other stakeholders.

With the theme, “Democratic Governance and National Cohesion: The Role of Editors,” and the sub-theme, “Electoral Integrity and Trust Deficit: What Nigerians Expect in 2027,” the conference will examine the role of editors in promoting democratic governance and national cohesion.

The challenges and opportunities facing editors in promoting democratic values and national cohesion will also be discussed with the examination of best practices and strategies for editors to strengthen democratic governance and unity.

The Head of Department, Political Science and International Relations, University of Abuja, Prof. Sheriff Ibrahim, will speak on “State of the Nation: Imperative of Economic and Political Reforms in a Challenged Nation.”

The second day of the programme, November 13, will take place at the Nigerian Air Force Conference Centre and the former Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Lucky Irabor, will speak on “Media, Terrorism, and National Security: Addressing the Complexities,” while the Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies, Baze University, Prof. Abiodun Adeniyi, will discuss “The Evolving Face of Journalism: Battling Misinformation, AI Disruption, and Credibility Gap.”

Prof. Awa Kalu (SAN), Managing Partner of Awa Kalu & Partners, will address the conference on Wednesday on “Election Disputes and Judicial Integrity: Navigating the Thin Line Between Law and Politics.”

Among those who will chair different sessions at the conference are the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar and the Chairman of Arise News and ThisDay Newspaper, Prince Nduka Obaigbena, while Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, will be the keynote speaker.

Publishers/Chairmen, Board of Directors of newspepers, Managing Directors/ Editors-in-Chief from newspaper and broadcast organizations, Chairmen of media organisation’s Editorial Boards, and top editors are already in Abuja for the conference.

According to NGE, there would be an executive session on the second day of the conference, where editors will engage government officials, political leaders, and business executives.
