The National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dayo Israel, who was recently re-elected for another four-year term, has commended the Confederation of African Football for appointing Samson Adamu as Acting Secretary General, describing the decision as a strong vote of confidence in the capacity of young Nigerians.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Israel praised CAF for recognizing Adamu’s competence and proven track record, noting that his role in successfully coordinating major international events including the World Beach Soccer and Copa soccer initiatives in Lagos, clearly demonstrates his ability to deliver at the highest level.

He stated that the appointment reinforces the growing recognition of Nigerian youth as capable leaders who can excel on the global stage when given the opportunity.

“This appointment is a clear validation of what we have always advocated as the APC Youth Wing that young Nigerians are capable of achieving extraordinary feats across all sectors. What many once thought impossible for a young Nigerian has now become a reality through proven performance,” Israel said.

He added that the development aligns with the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which emphasizes youth inclusion, empowerment, and the elevation of competent Nigerians into strategic leadership positions.

Israel, who also serves as Chairman of the Board of the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta, further noted that CAF’s decision should inspire institutions across Africa to continue entrusting young professionals with responsibilities that shape the continent’s future.

He congratulated Adamu on his well-deserved appointment and expressed confidence that he will bring excellence and distinction to the role.

He concluded by saying that the capacity of Adamu to lead initiatives such as the Copa Coca Beach Volleyball project is a demonstration of the ability of Nigerians youth to making meaningful impact on the global stage.
