Following the demise of one of-the most respected figures in the Nollywood industry, Oludotun Baiyewu Jacobs, popularly known as Olu Jacobs on 16th September, his family has announced that he will be laid to rest in Lagos on Friday, October 2.

The family of the late veteran actor announcing this on Tuesday, said a funeral service would be held at 10am at This Present House Church on Freedom Way, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos which would be followed by a private burial.
A Night of Tributes in honour of Olu Jacob is slated for Wednesday, September 30, at 4pm at the Glover Memorial Hall, 19 Marinho Road, Lagos Island.

No doubt, the event will bring together Olu Jacob’s colleagues, contemporaries, mentees, friends and admirers, as well as associates from Nigeria and abroad, to celebrate his life and contribution to the entertainment industry.
Born on July 11, 1942, he was a recipient of the Member of the Order of the Federal Republic, MFR.

Married to Joke Silva in 1989, their marriage produced three children, Olusoji, Olugbenga and Dayo.
As the news of his death continue to generate tributes from members of the creative industry, scores of mentees, contemporary and associates are expected to attend the Night of Tributes.
