NECO Releases 2026 BECE Results, Fixes July for Re-Sit Examination

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the results of the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), which took place across Nigeria and five foreign countries.

The Acting Director of Information and Public Relations of NECO’s Azeez Sani, disclosed on Thursday that a total number of 186,291 candidates sat for the examinations in 12 subjects, which was conducted between 20 April and 30 April 2026.

The results were released after the successful conclusion of the 2026 BECE Award Committee Meeting held at its headquarters in Minna, Niger State.

The Director of Basic Education at the Federal Ministry of Education and the Chairperson of the Award Committee, Dr Folake Olatunji-David, expressed satisfaction on behalf of the Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, with the processes leading to the release of the results.

The Award Committee has also approved July 22 and 23 2026 for the conduct of the BECE Re-sit Examination in Mathematics and English Studies.

According to NECO, the re-sit examination was specially designed for candidates with conditional deficiencies either in English Studies, Mathematics or both.
