The death of Alexx Ekubo has thrown the Nigerian entertainment industry into mourning.
He died at the age of 40 after a prolonged battle with cancer.

The family said the actor passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026, after months of illness.
His protracted disappearance from the public eye raised concerns among fans and colleagues.
Born on April 10, 1986, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Alex Ekubo hails from Arochukwu in Abia State. He is known for his tall frame, charisma, and strong screen presence.
He attended Federal Government College, Daura, for his secondary education and later studied Law at the University of Calabar.

Alexx Ekubo also obtained a degree in Mass Communication from Calabar Polytechnic.
He first gained national attention in 2010 after finishing as first runner-up in the Mr Nigeria competition after which he became a leading star in movie industry.

He later built a reputation as a leading man in romantic comedies and contemporary Nigerian cinema.
He was also involved in social impact and humanitarian initiatives. He was listed among the Most Influential People of African Descent Top 100 Under 40 Hall of Fame and has received recognition for contributions to entertainment and charity work.
