Ondo Becomes First State to Implement New Salary for Health Workers

The Ondo State Governor Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has approved the immediate implementation of the revised CONMESS and CONHESS salary structure for medical doctors and health workers at the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital, UNIMEDTH.

According to the Chief Medical Director, Professor Michael Olumide Gbala, the official circular authorizing the domestication and rollout of the new structure has been received by the hospital management.

Gbala said the implementation takes effect immediately.

Officials say the move is part of the state government’s commitment to improving the welfare and motivation of healthcare workers, and to strengthening service delivery in the state’s health sector.

With this approval, Ondo State becomes the first state in the South West to adopt and implement the new salary structure for health workers under the administration of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.

Staff of UNIMEDTH have received the development as a significant step toward addressing longstanding remuneration concerns in the sector.

All health workers in the state are equally covered.
