Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, has consoled the family of Ekubo on the death of their son Illustrious son and Nollywood actor, Alex Ikenna Ekubo Okwaraeke.

The governor stated this on Thursday at Arochukwu, during the funeral service for Ekubo by the Streams of Joy Church. He described the demise of Ekubo, as a profound loss to Abia State and the Nigerian entertainment industry .
Represented by his Chief of Staff, Caleb Ajagba, Otti said the late actor was not only a celebrated entertainer but also a cultural ambassador, whose talent projected the image of Abia state and nation on the global stage.

According to him, the late actor was known to have carried his roots with pride and through hard work and discipline showed that background is not a barrier for achieving one’s dream in life.
Speaking further, he said that Ekubo’s rise from Arochukwu to the global stage remains a powerful inspiration to young people.
“Alex possessed that rare gift of connecting with people. Through his performances, he brought joy to homes, inspiredyoung people, and demonstrated that with discipline, dedication,and excellence.”

Otti encouraged the wife of the deceased, the Ekubo-Okwaraeke family, the people of Arochukwu and the Nigerian creative industry to be strong, courageous and take solace in God.
Late Alex was a renowned Nollywood actor who died as a result of complications from advanced metastatic kidney cancer. He is survived by wife, parents and siblings.
