Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has finally announced the minimum UTME cut-off marks approved for Nigerian universities ahead of the 2026 admission exercise.

This was disclosed in Abuja on Monday during the 2026 Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions.
With the adoption of the highest minimum cut-off mark of 220 by Pan-Atlantic University, other leading institutions fixed theirs at 200.
In the group of universities that adopted 200 are University of Lagos, University of Ibadan, University of Nigeria, Obafemi Awolowo University, University of Benin and Covenant University.
According to JAMB, the released figures represent the minimum benchmark for admission consideration.

However, JAMB maintained that institutions can still set higher requirements for competitive courses such as Medicine, Law, Pharmacy and Engineering.
“The approved figures represent the minimum thresholds for admission consideration,” JAMB said during the policy meeting.
Other major universities, including Ahmadu Bello University, University of Abuja and University of Ilorin adopted 180 as their minimum score.
