A fresh attack has claimed six lives and eight others injured following two separate attacks on some communities in Barkin Ladi and Riyom Local Government Areas of Plateau State.

According to people living in the area, the first attack occurred late Sunday night in Hurum Gashish, a community in Barkin Ladi, where gunmen invaded the area at about 10 p.m. and open fire on unsuspecting villagers.
The second second attack took place in Shonong Bachi community of Riyom Local Government Area took place around 11 p.m. on the same day.

While Four persons were killed and five others injured during the first attack, two persons died and three others injured in the second attack.
According to eye witness, gunmen were said to have stormed the communities, shooting sporadically, causing great panic, forcing many to flee their homes for safety.

Describing concern over the attack which he said is worrisome and too frequent in the area, the National Publicity Secretary of Berom Youth Moulders Association, Rwang Tenglong, said the attacks had thrown the affected communities into great sorrow.
