Ogun Police Deploy Officers to J4, Urge Residents to Remain Calm

Following the reports of a security incident around the J4 area of the Sagamu–Benin Expressway on Thursday, the Ogun State Police Command has activated a coordinated security operation and urged members of the public to remain calm.

Acting on the directive of the State Commissioner of Police, Olabode Ojajuni, the Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Police Command, Eleweran, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the police responded to the situation without delay.

“Upon receiving a distress call on the security incident in the area, the command responded immediately and deployed four units of Police Mobile Force (PMF) personnel, operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, and other tactical teams to the area,” he said.

Speaking further, Babaseyi said the command has put necessary security measure in place to ensure public safety.

“The Command wishes to state that there is no cause for alarm. All necessary security measures have been put in place to ensure public safety.”

According to the command, an intensive bush-combing exercise is ongoing, with the deployed operatives making significant operational progress in tracking the fleeing suspects.

Having dominated the area in ensuring the safety of commuters and inhabitants of the corridor, the command called on residents to remain calm and go about their daily activities without fear.
