Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal captain, has become the first world footballer to score in six different World Cups after his score against Uzbekistan at the ongoing tournament in North America.
Ronaldo’s goal against Uzbekistan within just five minutes into the match was his first goal at 2026 World Cup.
The goal was also a victory over his inability to score any goal in their opening match with the Democratic Republic of Cong which attracted a lot of criticism from fans.
Earlier, Ronaldo had played four matches for Portugal without a goal and 10 straight games without a goal at major tournaments.
The last goal of the 41-year-old at a major tournament was in Portugal’s opening match at Qatar 2022.
